Aalto University School of Business was granted EQUIS-accreditation for a further five years

Aalto University School of Business was granted EQUIS (the European Quality Improvement System) 5-year accreditation. Moreover, School of Business was ranked 43rd in the “Masters in management ranking 2013” published by the Financial Times newspaper on 16 September 2013.

Accreditations and rankings are a way to measure and improve quality and international competitiveness.

The Aalto University School of Business was the first business school in the Nordic countries to have received all three labels of excellence from the world’s leading business school accreditation bodies: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. Accrediation re-evaluations take place every 5 years. The accreditation process examines areas such as the management system, the autonomy of decision-making, research, degree programmes, internationalisation and corporate relations.

The School of Business has been EQUIS accredited since 1998. EQUIS Peer Review Team Visit was conducted onMay at the School of Business. Now the Peer Review team announced, that they recommend without hesitation to extend the accreditation for another full cycle.

- Re-accreditation indicates that we fulfil demanding international quality requirements. I am proud that we have progressed in many areas covered by the EQUIS system, says Dean Ingmar Björkman.

At the moment, only 65 business schools worldwide hold 5-year EQUIS-accreditation.

The Aalto University School of Business was ranked 43rd in the “Masters in management ranking 2013” published by the Financial Times newspaper on 16 September 2013. The ranking lists the 70 best Master's Degree programmes of the world. The ranking covers Master’s Degree programmes in economics and business administration that are mainly offered in Europe and Asia. The ranking primarily measures the overall international dimension of the programmes and the career development of the graduates.

The Aalto University School of Business is the only Finnish business school on the list. Globally, the competition on the master degree market has tightened.

– This year we have revised and improved our Master's programmes to make programmes more internationally attractive. Internationalisation of the student body as well as increasing the number of international faculty remain a high priority for the School’s on-going development, says dean Ingmar Björkman.
